| Castletownbere port is located on the south side of the Beara Peninsula in West Cork on South West coast of Ireland. The port has an inner harbour in which the town of Castletownbere is built around. The outer harbour is called Berehaven which was an old British navy port up to 1938. Berehaven harbour is the second most safest natural harbour in the world, with seven miles of safe anchorage . On the eastern section of Berehaven harbour there is 30 metres of water were large ships can anchor. The port has a marina on Bere Island side of the harbour, and sailing vessels can also anchor by Castletownbere town or by the famous Dunboy Castle to the west side of the harbour. |

| The port of Castletownbere is the largest white fish port in Ireland. With fishing boats for all over Europe using the new deep water berth in the inner harbour. The port has a local fleet of sixty fishing boats which keep the local fish factories supplied with many different types of fish. Due to the development of the new €40 million deep water quay build in 2011 cargo ships, navy ships and cruise liners are planning to use the port in the coming years. This fishing town has given a big welcome to all seafarers who visit the port. |
